A technique rather than a specific type, in which warps are wrapped by colored wefts to create a pattern. Turkish, and other types.  Produces a flat surface, pileless rug which may be turned over for extended use. Lends itself to geometric patterns. Also used on bag faces and as a partial design element on pile rugs. Prices vary.
